Calming Formula for Dogs

My Four Legged Family
Once upon a time.....  ok, this is not a fairy tale but starts out as one.  Several years ago, I decided I wanted to save the world....  one poor homeless dog at a time.  At one point, I had 4 small dogs and they were all vying for my attention.  I finally realized I couldn't save them all!  So I ended up keeping two Pomeranians that I had rescued. ( I also have two pits that are rescues, as well)

Buckwheat was a 14 ounce little black beauty with a puff of hair on the top of his head.  He was so small we weren't sure he was even gonna make it.  I drove six hours to pick him up and it's been worth every mile.  He has grown into a fat little chunk, very well behaved and a model pet.

Then, of course, any every family you have that hard headed child that bounces off the wall.  Meet Charley!  Charley is a little white Pomeranian that looks like a little snowball.  Poor Charley was a rescue from a family with small kids.  He had a broken leg from one of the kids playing too rough with him.  They realized he was too tiny for their family and gave him up.  I stepped in, rescued him and gave him a loving home.

Fast forward several months.......  We were playing fetch, he got under my feet and I stepped on him.  Yes, full weight on his back.  It was a horrible situation but he survived with two broken pelvic bones and an $1800 vet bill and many many tears.
Calming Formula for Dogs

The point of all this story is to tell you about a calming formula for dogs.  Charley was injured and had to be babied to the point of SPOILED!  He slept in a crib in my room for eight weeks, had to be carried out to the bathroom and became a little demanding.  Now he is a hyper little shit that bounces off the walls, barks at everything from someone walking on 'his' street to a leaf blowing in the driveway.  He is a sweetheart but needed to CALM down.  This formula works wonders!

Probioticsmart.com has been a life saver.  I give him a half a pill in the mornings and half at night and it helps to calm him a bit.  It doesn't make him sleepy or lethargic like he's drugged, just sort of a calming effect that takes the edge off.  I didn't try it during storms or travel because he doesn't have an issue with those; however, when we have company he goes nuts.  Calming Formula for Dogs has been a life saver for us and I think we might keep Charley around for a long long time.

I know there are animals who have a fear of thunderstorms or those who don't travel well and I think that Calming Formula for Dogs would be the perfect solution.  It takes the edge off without drugging the dog.  It works wonders for my family and my little hyper baby.

PS...  Charley doesn't play fetch or get under my feet anymore and it's been five years since his accident. He does chase the pits and his brother and basically is the alpha dog around here.  When you meet him, you'd never know he has a plate in one hip and five screws in the other.  He is still mama's baby.

We have 3 dogs, one cat, and a rabit. I hope to add one more homeless put to our family when we move :) This stuff sounds great and like it could help a lot, I will have to check it out :)

I think this stuff could help my pup and his crazy reaction to guests coming over!

  11. too bad you couldn't review it during storms because that's the one thing I was curious about. My Lab is terrified of storms....Anyone else reading this ever try it. I would love to know if it works because I do not want to try anything strong, my dog is 10 and I am afraid that something stronger would be harmful to him, he has gotten worse with storms since he has gotten older

    thanks

  19. It's good to know this is available. My wife and I could have used this for our cat, before we gave up and handed her off to my mother-in-law. If anything, our dog is getting older and needs a little more energy. Going outside seems to energize her, though.

  20. God bless you for rescuing dogs!! There should be more people like you on this earth and it would be such a better place to live!! I also rescued my dog. She is a pit bull that was mistreated. I love her so much. I consider her a part of my family.

  21. Our mastiff has anxiety because she was mistreated as a puppy. This sounds like it would be helpful! Thanks for sharing! And kudos to being an awesome pet parent!

  22. I rescued my fur babies, too. We have one with severe separation anxiety issues- like broke a wire crate, ate an arm chair and sofa- ALL IN THE FIRST WEEK of bringing him home.
We came up with a solution- he's now crated with his brother and is a happy pup.
We're also testing this out on our guy as well! :)

  23. I have also rescued some little critters too! One Chihuahua I rescued is terribly afraid of thunderstorms so I am definitely going to have to try this. Thanks for the great post! =)
