What would the world be like without us?

Here we are in the midst of the Christmas rush and frenzy.  I got to thinking today about Santa and the representation he has.  I hope that when you think of Santa, it's not of gifts and money and all the material things he represents.

Think about goodness and kindness represented by the big fat jolly old man.  He loves to make those children smile.  He eats gross cookies and drinks milk left out half the night. He laughs from the depths of his soul.  He causes children AND adults to smile with the gifts he brings.  But more than that, he exhibits the spirit of the season.  Happiness wraps around him and you can see the joy in the faces of those children.

Get into the spirit with me this year.  Go see a play, visit the mall, heck visit Santa himself.  Decorate the house, string some garland, buy a tree.  Go a little crazy.  It may even make you smile.

I am a believer in Santa Claus, in his red suit and too long beard.  I am a believer in the goodness of humans.  I am a believer in helping your fellow man, at Christmas and always.  What would the world be without us?  Us, who believe?

I believe!  Do you??
