Wordpress or Blogger

I have spent the last few weeks trying to decide which of these I like best. I have my original blog on Blogger but am unhappy with some of the features. My biggest gripe is in not being able to do a new post for each page. They are always on my home page. I know if I were a computer geek that I could tag and/or label to make the posts appear on other pages but I'm not.

I love the design of Blogger and I seem to be bringing traffic a little more each week. Is it worth the switch? Is this option something I can live without? Most of you have been blogging for a long time and your opinions mean a lot to me.

So, which do you use and why do you like it better?

  1. I haven't been blogging for very long, but I've heard that Wordpress is better. You get seen more in Google and companies want to work with you more too.

  2. I've been blogging for nearly a year. September will make one year. I started off on blogger and didn't make the switch over to Wordpress until June. I am SO HAPPY I made the switch, and like it a lot better. I wouldn't have been able to get the design I really liked on blogger. Up until June my page rank on blogger stayed at a 1, in just a couple months of being on wordpress i am already at a PR of 2. I'm also able to get a lot more review opportunities since being on wordpress. I was a little worried that I'd lose posts in the switch, but I did not. I highly recommend switching over.

  3. I have not used Blogger, as I started blogging on wordpress but I did quite a bit of research before starting my blog and I like the control I have over EVERYTHING on WP. I have heard that Blogger can dictate certain ads and posts. Plus Like the others said I do believe you get more opportunities working with WP.

  5. Wordpress hands down. There are still a lot who are in the Blogger camp but there is always a debate.

Check out http://MommyBloggerU.com - we will be doing a webinar covering both to help people understand more

  7. WORDPRESS!!!!!

Google can, at any time, and without reservation, delete your blog, as they own it. And, you won't get it back.

Wordpress also gives you far more functionality and control. I made the change a little over a year ago and it was the best decision I ever made.

  8. Also, I highly recommend doing away with "Captcha." It is HORRIBLE. It deters people from commenting, trust me...some because they get annoyed, feel put off, don't want to be bothered, or simply can't decipher the gibberish on the screen. I have to refresh it multiple times before I can actually read one. Just my two cents.

  9. I started on Blogger and moved to Wordpress after about a year. It took awhile to get used to the different format, but I really like it now.

Also like Kristin said, Google can delete a Blogger blog at any time.

  10. I prefer wordpress so many more options to go with it. I started on blogger and never really got the hang of it.

I know there is a way to redirect a blogger blog to a wordpress blog with out loosing to much traffic.

    Good Luck deciding.
